Power of Attorney

Without the ability to otherwise verify the validity of a Durable Power of Attorney, financial institutions are frequently opting not to accept a power of attorney as valid if it is in excess of five (5) years old.  This is not the practice of every institution, but it is becoming prevalent.

If your Durable Power of Attorney is in excess of five (5) years old, or was prepared in a state other than which you currently reside, we recommend having it reviewed by a duly qualified attorney. This should be done on a regular basis as part of your regular estate plan review.
